FAQ

Do I even need psychotherapy / couples therapy?

keyboard_arrow_down

The need for psychotherapy depends primarily on subjective feelings. Often, suffering, a need to talk, or a desire for change are sufficient. A diagnosis can be helpful but isn’t necessarily important. The desire for self-awareness or personal development are justified reasons for starting therapy. A prerequisite for a psychotherapeutic treatment are  concerns / goals / assignments. This is discussed and worked out with me during the point out for both client and therapist.

What costs do I have to expect from psychotherapy?

What funding options are there for psychotherapy?

Therapy should be a relief and not an additional burden. That's why I decided to offer a social price. Details on this must be found out at the initial meeting. At the practice location in Klosterneuburg, full covered therapy for children and adolescents as well as rehabilitation patients are also possible depending on availability. The settlement is then made directly to the health insurance company. A prerequisite for this is a diagnosis during the course of therapy.

Can I start psychotherapy if I am under 18?

I don't only work as a certified systemic psychotherapist but also as a registered child and youth therapist. That's why I basically work with all age groups between 0-99. However, the cognitive requisites for therapy are a prerequisite for a successful course of treatment.

As soon as a young person is considered to be “capable of understanding and judgment” by law, you can decide by yourself about psychotherapy. This is usually the case from the age of 14. So if you are 14 years old (or older), you can decide for yourself whether you want to start psychotherapy.

I don't want anyone to know about my psychotherapy!

I am subject to confidentiality. I can only be released from this duty of confidentiality in writing by the client himself. The only exception is when the life of the client or that of another person is in acute danger

My partner doesn't want to go to couples therapy!

keyboard_arrow_down

A prerequisite for couples therapy is that both agree to therapy. This does not necessarily mean that both partners have to be present at every meeting. However, a therapy goal must be declared by both partners. Freedom of speech is always a basic requirement for psychotherapy if it has not been ordered by a court or institution.
